Flyering Campaign
Event Guide
When your group posts flyers around your school and campus, you’re creating a visual platform for others to learn more about your group, activities that your group holds, and general information about abortion and the pro-life movement. This is a great way to plant seeds of change and inspiration to action! Use this event guide to spread awareness of the pro-life message and your group on campus.
Step 1:
Choose a topic and design for your flyer.
- Determine the intention behind your flyering. Is it to recruit members or spread awareness about the abortion issue? Is it to shed light on a legislative action which affects life? Is it to share resources with pregnant and parenting students? Narrow down your topic for your flyer.Â
- Feel free to use computer programs such as Microsoft Publisher or Canva to make your own flyers. Your more creative group members may have experience with these applications.
- If this is connected to an event or a tabling display, request information cards from your SFLA Regional Coordinator to hand out with your flyers in high traffic areas.Â
Step 2:
Get your flyer approved.
- If required by your school, submit your flyer to the administration and ask for permission to post it around campus.
- Make sure to submit your flyer with plenty of time for your administration to review. Check your student organization guidelines for the approval process.
Step 3:
Print and post your flyers.
- Brainstorm the best spots on campus to hang flyers. This includes high-traffic areas, bulletin boards, announcement boards, and student resource boards.Â
- Print enough flyers to cover all the hot spots at your school.
- Pro Tip #1: Ask around for people who can print your flyers for free! Sometimes, faculty advisers or resident advisers can print things for free -- so network with them to potentially save money.
- Pro Tip #2: Post flyers in bathrooms! Everybody uses the bathroom and will consequently have to see your flyers.
- Post pictures of your homemade flyers on social media so that everyone can see your awesome work. Tag @studentsforlife!Â
Step 4:
Plan your next flyering session!
- When it comes to creating group recognition and awareness on your campus, consistency is key! Keep flyering regularly, such as once a month.
- Alternate your flyering topics to include event and meeting invitations, as well as information about the abortion issue and supportive services.
